TOKIO INKARAMI Trampoline Team森 ひかるMORI Hikaru

When Hikaru Mori first encountered the trampoline on the roof of her local department store at age four, she realized how fun it could be and began trampolining classes.

Later in 2013, she revealed her true essence as a competitor when at age 14 she became the youngest athlete to win a Japanese national championship. She was ineligible to compete at the Rio Olympics due to age restrictions, but in 2017 made her world championship debut and became the first Japanese woman to win a silver medal in the synchronized event. And similarly in 2018, she became the first Japanese woman to win a gold medal in synchronized.

At the 2019 world championships, Mori became the first Japanese athlete to win an individual event. And as a result, she earned a competition spot at the Tokyo Olympics.

Having earned her first world championship gold medal just before the Olympics were scheduled to take place, etc., she had been expected to win the world’s first Olympic gold medal in trampoline but ultimately withdrew from the competition. In her first competition following her withdrawal, she competed at the world championships in 2021— winning two group events and receiving the silver medal for the synchronized event.

She considered retiring from competition, but announced on social media in February 2022 that she was still competing and working toward new challenges.
