Shino Matsuda started surfing at the age of six, influenced by her parents. She obtained her professional qualification in the second year of junior high school and turned professional in the third year. In May 2019, she became the first champion at the inaugural Japan Open.

After turning professional, Matsuda achieved notable results, finishing 9th at the 2021 WSL CS “ROXY Pro France” and 5th at the WSL CS “MEO Vissla Pro Ericeira.”

In 2023, Shino Matsuda won the WSL QS3000 “La Union International Pro.” Additionally, she achieved the highest Asian ranking, finishing 13th at the ISA World Surfing Games 2023, securing her spot for the Paris Olympics.

Shino Matsuda’s strengths lie in her sharp riding and flow during surfing, utilizing her strong core and flexibility.
