Influenced by their parents, Ogiwara hiroto began snowboarding at the age of three and showed remarkable talent from an early age. At just nine years old, a video of him successfully landing a backside 1080 (three full rotations) gained widespread attention. At the age of twelve, he earned professional certification and began honing their skills through competitions both in Japan and abroad.

His breakthrough came in 2023 with a first victory in the Big Air event at the World Cup. In the 2024–25 season, he made significant strides, claiming a second career win at the 2024 World Cup. At the 2025 X Games Big Air, he achieved their first victory by successfully landing a historic backside 2340 (six and a half rotations)—a feat never before accomplished in contest history.

He is expected to be a standout performer at the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
